Fusion Add-In Privacy Policy

Fusion Add-In Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 10, 2026

The Eccentric Workshop (we, us, or our) provides add-ins for Autodesk Fusion (the Add-in). This policy explains how the Add-in handles information.

The short version

The add-in does its work locally inside Autodesk Fusion. The Add-in contains no advertising or analytics, and sends no personal information, model data, or usage data to The Eccentric Workshop.

The Add-in makes one kind of network request, and it goes to Autodesk rather than to us: to confirm that your Autodesk account is entitled to use the Add-in, it asks the Autodesk App Store's entitlement service. That request contains your Autodesk user ID and the Add-in's App Store ID, and nothing else. We never see it and receive no data from it.

If you choose to remember your settings, the Add-in saves those settings only on your device.

Scope

This policy applies to the released add-in. It does not apply to Autodesk Fusion, Autodesk's websites or services, GitHub, or any other third-party product or service. It also does not apply to separate development and debugging tools in the source repository that are not included in the add-in release package.

Information handled by the Add-in

Model information

The Add-in accesses the bodies, faces, edges, dimensions, units, and other geometry you select in your open Fusion design. It processes that information within Fusion to preview and create mortises and loose tenons. The Add-in does not transmit your design or geometry to us.

The geometry created by the Add-in becomes part of your Fusion design. How that design is saved, synchronized, shared, backed up, or deleted is controlled by Fusion and your Autodesk settings, not by Domino Joint.

Locally saved settings

When Remember These Values is enabled and you successfully create a joint, the Add-in saves your dialog preferences in a local settings.json file. These preferences can include:

  • tenon and mortise dimensions and clearances;
  • layout mode, spacing, offsets, tenon count, and bias values; and
  • options such as preview, hole-only mode, component creation, board transparency, flip side, and whether to remember values.

These settings do not include your name, email address, Autodesk credentials, payment information, design contents, body or component names, or file names.

The current settings file is stored at:

  • Windows: %APPDATA%\<ADDIN NAME>\settings.json
  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/<ADDIN NAME>/settings.json

On macOS systems without the standard Application Support directory, the Add-in may instead use ~/<ADDIN NAME>/settings.json.

Unchecking Remember These Values prevents the current values from being saved, but does not delete values saved previously. Uninstalling the Add-in also does not remove either settings file. You can delete these files at any time; the Add-in will recreate the current settings file only after you run it with Remember These Values enabled and successfully create a joint.

License and entitlement information

Add-ins are distributed through the Autodesk App Store. To confirm that you are entitled to use it — whether through the App Store's free trial or a purchase — the Add-in calls the Autodesk App Store entitlement service:

https://apps.autodesk.com/webservices/checkentitlement

What is sent. The request contains two values: the internal Autodesk user ID of the account signed in to Fusion, and the Add-in's Autodesk App Store application ID. It contains no design or geometry data, no settings, no file or component names, no email address, and no device identifiers. It is sent over HTTPS to Autodesk. It is not sent to The Eccentric Workshop, and we receive no notification, log, or copy of it.

What comes back. Autodesk replies with the same two IDs, a true/false value indicating whether the account is entitled, and a short status message.

When it happens. At most once per day per account, when Fusion starts the Add-in, and additionally if you ask the Add-in to check again from its licence dialog. It runs in the background and does not delay Fusion.

What is stored locally. The Add-in keeps an entitlement.json file recording, for each account that has used it: a one-way hash of the Autodesk user ID, the date of first use, the most recent entitlement result, and when that result was obtained. Your Autodesk user ID itself is not written to this file — only the hash, which cannot be read back to recover the ID. The file contains no name, email address, payment information, or design data.

The file is written to both of these locations, so that the Add-in still knows its licence state if one of them is unavailable:

  • Windows: %APPDATA%\<ADDIN NAME>\entitlement.json and %LOCALAPPDATA%\<ADDIN NAME>\entitlement.json
  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/<ADDIN NAME>/entitlement.json and ~/.config/<ADDIN NAME>/entitlement.json

You can delete these files at any time. The Add-in will recreate them, and will re-check your entitlement the next time it runs.

Your purchase itself is handled by the Autodesk App Store and its payment providers, not by the Add-in. We do not receive or store your payment details.

Diagnostics

If the Add-in encounters an error, it may display technical error details in a local Fusion message box. The add-in does not automatically send crash reports, logs, or diagnostic information to us.

Network communications

The Add-in makes one network request, described under License and entitlement information above: an entitlement check sent to Autodesk. It is the only request the Add-in makes.

The Add-in does not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics services, advertising services, or cloud storage, and it communicates with no server operated by The Eccentric Workshop. It does not transmit your designs, geometry, settings, or usage patterns anywhere.

Information you send to Autodesk through the entitlement check is handled under Autodesk's own privacy terms, linked below.

The add-in runs inside Autodesk Fusion. Fusion may separately process your Autodesk account information, designs, device information, usage information, and diagnostics under your Autodesk configuration and Autodesk's own privacy terms. You can review the Autodesk Privacy Statement for more information. We do not control Autodesk's processing.

If you download the Add-in from or interact with its repository on GitHub, GitHub may process information under its own privacy terms. That processing is not performed by the Add-in.

Sharing, sale, and advertising

Because the Add-in does not send us personal information, we do not sell, rent, share, or use personal information from the Add-in for targeted advertising. We do not receive model data, locally saved settings, or entitlement check results from the Add-in.

As a publisher, the Autodesk App Store makes aggregate download statistics and purchaser records available to us through its Publisher Corner. That information comes from Autodesk's records of store transactions, not from the Add-in running on your device.

Retention and deletion

We do not retain information from your use of the Add-in on our systems. Local settings and the local entitlement record remain on your device until you delete them. Geometry created in a Fusion design remains for as long as that design or its history retains it, subject to Fusion's features and your Autodesk settings.

Security

The Add-in's settings are stored as a plain-text JSON file and are protected by the security of your device and operating-system account. Do not place sensitive personal information in any free-form values exposed by Fusion or in modified versions of the settings file.

The entitlement record is also a JSON file. Its contents are readable, but the Autodesk user ID it refers to is stored only as a one-way hash, and the file carries an integrity check so that the Add-in can tell whether its licence record has been altered. That check is a safeguard against tampering, not encryption; it does not protect the file's contents from being read.

The entitlement request is sent over HTTPS. On a system whose certificate store cannot validate the connection, the Add-in retries without certificate validation rather than locking you out of software you have paid for. The request carries no credentials or design data.

Children's privacy

The Add-in is a general-purpose CAD tool and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children or other users.

Your privacy choices and rights

You control the Add-in's local information through the Remember These Values option and by deleting the settings and entitlement files described above. Because we do not receive information through the Add-in, we generally have no Add-in usage data to access, correct, export, or delete in response to a privacy request.

The entitlement check cannot be turned off, because it is what establishes your right to use the Add-in. Signing out of your Autodesk account in Fusion stops the check being made, but also stops the Add-in confirming your entitlement, so it will eventually stop working. Requests about the data Autodesk holds for your Autodesk account should be directed to Autodesk.

If you contact us directly, we will use the information in your message to respond and handle it according to applicable law. Please do not send confidential designs or sensitive personal information when requesting support.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the Add-in's information practices change or to reflect legal or operational requirements. We will post the revised policy in the Add-in's source repository and update the date above. If a change is material, we will provide notice appropriate to the way the Add-in is distributed.
